New love and young love have many advocates. The sublime qualities
of long standing passion are less discussed. Willing speaks to the joys
and pleasures of relationships that last. This is not a song about the
exciting first sparks of passion, but rather, about the intense heat that
only a fire that burns a long time with substantial fuel can produce.
Have a listen.

may not be as
young may not be as strong but I’ve never been so willing may not
be the one propelled by urgency every moment darling if we take the
time savouring the known sublime you know it will be
thrilling you know it will be thrilling
privilege the new it’s
what we’re taught to do credit where it’s due is how I want to be
with you I can trade-in, I can lay-by taking every chance that comes
by there might be a few! I can learn to be a keeper of the
wilder and the deeper and embrace the two yeah

who sets limits to the ways that I can be with
you this is bold and true and we’ve learned a thing or two (about
each other) there is danger in assuming that a fire is less
consuming when it is not new ‘ cause a mutual decision or
spontaneous ignition can be passion’s cue
